Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 MAKASSAR/ TORAJA LAND
Arrival in Makassar or South Sulawesi’s airport, your guide will meet you and take you to Torajaland by car or minibus, an 8-9 hour ride with scenic stops, with chance also to see and look into Bugisness typical house. Stay overnight at Hotel in Rantepao, the capital of Toraja Regency. (L, D)
Day 2 TORAJA LAND
After breakfast you will have a full day meeting people and exploring the culture of Torajaland. Visit ancient graves, traditional village for Torajan typical houses, and the weaving village. We may be able to attend ceremonies if they coincide with our visit. (B, L, D)
Day 3 RANTEPAO/ MAKALE- BARUPPU
After breakfast depart by jeep to Barruppu at the northern tip of Torajaland, passing through Batutumonga and Lokomata along the way, is your chance to enjoy the hidden and authentic beauty of Toraja hinterland. Day hiking opportunities abound. Overnight at a local villager's house. (B, L, D)
Day 4 BARUPPU/ RANTEPAO
After breakfast takes a short trek to visit nearby hanging graves, then return to Rantepao via Lolai Hill. You may wish to purchase supplies for a picnic en route. Overnight at Hotel in Rantepao with dinner. (B, L, D)
Day 5 TORAJA LAND/UJUNG PANDANG
Depart Torajaland for Ujungpandang, with chance to stop at Bantimurung to see the waterfall and butterfly breeding center. Arrive in Ujungpandang by late afternoon, check in at Pantai Gapura on the beach side (B, L)

Note: Toraja Land is situated in the highland with more rain possibilities, therefore the favourable time touring the area would be during dry season, April – October. Travelling during the month of June there usually more chances to see funeral ceremony as people just finished from harvesting their farms when they usually have more funds to do the ceremony
